Research underpins everything I do. I approach it with a strong emphasis on ethical practice, integrity and social impact.

My research interests are shaped by my work across further and higher education and focus on innovative ways of teaching research design, methods and statistics. I also research the student experience more broadly, particularly the role institutions play in supporting student health, wellbeing and professional boundaries, and how policy and practice can evolve to reflect this responsibility.

I have taught in further education and have nearly twenty years’ experience in higher education, including senior lecturer and leadership roles. My teaching has spanned a wide range of disciplines, including education, health and wellbeing, nursing, safeguarding, psychology related subjects and professional practice.

Alongside academic roles, I work as an Education Consultant and contribute to a range of education and publishing organisations. My teaching specialisms include research methods, academic and study skills, safeguarding, wellbeing and education policy.

Digital Learning and Sector Work

I design and lead accessible digital learning and student support initiatives at scale. This includes a free, openly available online course to support students preparing for university, recognised by Universities UK as an example of best practice.

Through ongoing collaboration with SAGE Publishing, I support students globally via research informed texts and digital learning resources that promote confidence, independence and successful transitions.
